چکیده
Five infants with biopsy proved juvenile xanthogranuloma of the iris were reviewed. Early treatment with subconjunctival injection ofsteroids and topical steroid drops resulted in regression of the lesion in four patients. One patient, reviewed at the age of 8 months after glaucoma which had developed secondary to the iris xanthogranuloma, had been treated by surgery alone: the visual outcome was very poor. (BrJ Ophthalmol 1993; 77: 57-60) Juvenile xanthogranuloma is a rare disorder of infants and very young children of unknown aetiology. To describe three cases of neovascular glaucoma (NVG) where iris or angle neovascularization regressed remarkably after subconjunctival bevacizumab injections used as the initial treatment before pan retinal photocoagulation (PRP) and/or filtering surgery. Three consecutive NVG patients whose intraocular pressure (IOP) was not controlled with maximal medication were offered an off-label subconj...

Although topical and periorbital steroids are accepted therapeutic options for treatment of scleritis, subconjunctival administration of depot corticosteroids has been considered unsafe owing to the risk of scleral thinning and perforation. Recen...
